We are actively searching for an Injection Molding Engineer with Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) or Plastics experience to liaison between our products and clients. In this role the Injection Molding Engineer, will have a polymer background such as Chemical Engineering, Chemical, Polymer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or others and will work directly with our client in the Automotive, Home Appliance or Consumer product industries. This position is based in Ravenna, OH at our new Customer Solutions Center.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Research and develop advanced injection molding process and technology
  • Provide on-site technical assistance to customers (troubleshoot problems, injection molding optimization)
  • Communicate with customers and provide the solution(s) on / off line
  • Research and investigate new technology to provide practical solutions for customers 
  • Design experiments, testing methods, CAE (Moldflow, etc) and schedule. Implement in a timely manner to resolve issues
    (Strong background in problem solving, using multiple analytical procedures to identify and characterize injection molding problems)
  • Prepare technical reports, data summaries and other technical documents
  • Plan and set up new equipment and tools at the new Customer Solutions Campus
  • Manage the lab (materials, machines, facilities) and set up SOPs (Safety Operating Process Manuals)
  • Hold injection molding technical seminars for customers and training for junior team members, sales, and CS staff
  • Communicate and collaborate with HQ and create the technical road map

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or advanced degrees in polymer and/or injection molding relevant fields such as Chemical engineering, polymer engineering, chemicals, mechanical engineering, highly preferred.
  • 5+years of experience in a mold manufacture company (design or analysis), injection molding industries is preferred.
  • 5+years of experience in injection molding or processing of thermoplastics and relevant fields at OEM or Tier 1 of automotive, home appliances or consumer products.
  • 5+years experience of plastic molding design and injection molding analysis CAE (eg. Moldflow)
  • Extensive experience in developing and optimizing injection molding parameters
  • Experience in machine, mold fabrication, assembly and mold maintenance
  • Knowledge of various thermoplastic materials and evolution tools (Microscope, residual stress analyzer, PVT, Rheometer, etc)
  • Collaboration experience with injection molding engineer, product designer and manufacturing engineer group at OEM/ODM
  • PowerPoint, Excel, Words Skills
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Travel up to 50%
