LG CNS Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “The Company”, “we”, or “us” interchangeably) and LG Affiliates care about your privacy.1 The protection of your privacy when processing personal data is important to us. This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) will explain how our organizations use the personal data collected from you when you use the SINGLEX Recruiting Service System (“LG Careers Website”).
Who is controlling and processing your personal data?
LG Careers Website is operated by LG CNS Co., Ltd. as the initial data controller. In terms of the data collection process, LG Careers Website collects and processes your personal data in three major stages.
- Stage 1: You (“Data Subject”) will first create an account on the website. When you register your account, LG CNS collects only limited personal data from you such as name, email address, password, country/region code, country/region of residence, phone number. LG CNS will be the data controller of these data.
- Stage 2: When you update your profile on LG Careers Website, you may provide or update information such as personal information (e.g., name, date of birth, phone number, email address, nationality, country/region code, country/region of residence, address, cover letter, resume/CV), work experience information (e.g., company name, department, title, job field, job details, start date, end date, country, transfer reason), education information (e.g., start date, end date, country of school, type of education, school name, faculty, major, dual major, minor, final level of education, type of graduation, total score, major score, degree), language information (e.g., language, language proficiency, language exam, total score, institution of certification, language level, effective date, expiry date), certification/license information (e.g., country of certification/license, institution, certification/license, effective date, expiration date, certification number). LG CNS will be the data controller of these profile information.
- Stage 3: As you begin the application process with a specific LG Affiliate for a specific job opportunity, as per LG Affiliates’ specifications, you may be requested to provide additional personal data such as salary expectation, possible start date, legal eligibility to work, visa information except the U.S. (visa requirement, visa status), statement of agreement, type signature, as far as requested by the LG Affiliates for the job posting. Each specific LG Affiliate, will be the controller of additional personal data collected during the specific application process, along with your personal information collected through above Stage 1 and Stage 2. LG CNS will further handle the data processing for that LG Affiliate, such as providing the technical platform to complete the application process. There will be additional information generated through the job application process such as job application status and offering status. LG CNS and that specific LG Affiliate will be the joint-controllers of these personal data.

1 For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, LG Affiliates refer to all LG entities and their subsidiaries which utilize SINGLEX Recruiting Service System.
Why do we process your data?
We process your personal data when you are registering an account and update your profile for application, while the LG Affiliate processes your data when you apply for a job with such LG Affiliate. The data processing is necessary for the performance of the electronic application process as well as to document compliance with legal obligations we are under. With your registration and application for a specific job advertised, such data is processed to properly respond to your application. Should you register but do not apply for a specific job, we process your personal data based on your consent. If you agree to store your data for future job vacancies of the LG Affiliate you have applied for, your data is processed on consent as well.
You are free to give, refuse or withdraw your consent according to relevant applicable laws. In case personal data processing is based solely on consent, you can change your decisions at any time by contacting us or the respective LG Affiliate, and your consent can be withdrawn with effect for the future. The withdrawal of the consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent prior to its withdrawal.
For some countries, additional information needs to be provided to you for the lawful data processing. Please refer to the “Addendum to Privacy Policy” applicable to your region for such country-specific information.
What data do we collect?

Any data we collect via LG Careers Website are solely collected directly from you.
On which legal basis is my data processed?
Your data is strictly processed according to the applicable legal rules and regulation and this Privacy Policy. Please check the “Addendum to Privacy Policy” applicable to your region to see any country-specific legal basis.
How will we use your data?
The Company and the LG Affiliates collect your data to:
- create and register a general user account for LG Careers Website
- receive and review job applications
- manage and administer your job applications
- process your application, including assessing your skills, qualifications and suitability for the role
- conduct background and reference checks to validate your qualifications and experience and assess your suitability for the role; only where legally allowed or subject to consent
- communicate with you about the recruitment process
- keep records relating to our recruitment processes
- comply with legal or regulatory requirements
- administer any future contract of employment with you, if applicable.
How long do we keep your data?
Personal data will be stored only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which they have been collected or as long as you have consented to, as the case may be. This means that we will store your data as long as you desire to have an account with us. The LG Affiliates will store your data for a particular job application and/or a particular employment relationship only for the duration of the application process and a consecutive reasonable grace period.
Should you have provided your consent to store your data for future job vacancies, we will store your data until you have withdrawn your respective consent or after a country-specific defined period of inactivity. We or the LG Affiliate will delete the personal information without delay, when the purpose of personal data processing is achieved, the described grace retention period is expired or your consent is withdrawn, or until such data is necessary to be maintained by mandatory laws.
Electronic data is being erased from the respective systems; in case of the personal data in paper form, the LG Affiliate uses paper shredders. You may obtain detailed data retention policies by contacting the LG Affiliate you have applied with.
With whom do we share your data?
- With other LG Affiliates. In principal, your data stays with us in case of a basic account or with the LG Affiliate you have applied for, who acts as Controller for any data submitted according to specific job application. Subject to your request and consent, the LG Affiliate may share your personal information with other LG Affiliates for alternative job opportunities.
- With Service Providers. The LG Affiliates have contracted the Company to process any data it controls on behalf of the LG Affiliate. The Company may outsource the processing of personal data for its smooth provision for services to functional service providers acting as data processor on behalf of the Company. The Company specifies in a respective contract all matters concerning the outsourcee’s responsibilities including data protection, such as (i) prevention of processing personal data for any purpose other than conducting the outsourced tasks, (ii) technical, organizational and managerial safeguards, (iii) restrictions on sub-outsourcing, (iv) management/supervision, and (v) compensation for damages. The management of the outsourcee has to confirm that information is processed safely. The data warehousing is performed by SAP Japan Co., Ltd in Japan, Google Cloud Korea, LLC in the Republic of Korea, Eightfold AI Inc. which use AWS Data Center in Germany, under the application of relevant data processing contracts that are in compliance with applicable laws such as the EU GDPR and others.
- For Legal Purposes. The Company will share your personal information following a disclosure request that is legally and rightfully required by courts, public authorities etc. under respective national applicable laws or as otherwise required to comply with the requirements of any applicable law. In case of such disclosure request we would inform you about with undue delay.
How do we protect your data?
For any data processing we apply and maintain reasonable security measures to protect the personal information collected and maintained from unauthorized access, destruction, use, modification, or disclosure. Inter alia, we take the following technical and organizational security measures to protect your data:
- Maintain Information security policies and make sure that policies and measures are regularly reviewed and where necessary improved.
- Communication with the Company applications utilizes cryptographic protocols such as TLS to protect information in transit over public networks. At the network edge, firewalls, web application firewalls, and DDoS protection are used to filter attacks.
- Data security controls which include logical segregation of data, restricted (e.g. role-based) access and monitoring, and where applicable, utilization of commercially available and industry-standard encryption technologies.
- Logical access controls designed to manage electronic access to data and system functionality based on authority levels and job functions.
- Physical and environmental security of data center, server room facilities and other areas containing client confidential information designed to: (i) protect information assets from unauthorized physical access, (ii) manage, monitor and log movement of persons in and out of the Company facilities, and (iii) protections against environmental hazards such as heat, fire and water damage.
- Operational procedures and controls to provide for configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of technology and information systems according to prescribed internal and adopted industry standards, including secure disposal of systems and media to render all information or data contained therein as undecipherable or unrecoverable prior to final disposal or release from the Company possession.
- Network security controls that provide for the use of enterprise firewalls and layered DMZ architectures, and intrusion detection systems and other traffic and event correlation procedures designed to protect systems from intrusion and limit the scope of any successful attack.
- Vulnerability assessment, patch management, and threat protection technologies and scheduled monitoring procedures designed to identify, assess, mitigate and protect against identified security threats, viruses and other malicious code.
What are your rights?
We would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to all applicable data protection rights under relevant laws, including the following:
The right to access – You have the right to request us or the LG Affiliate for copies of your personal data (e.g., for applicable region, as stipulated in Art. 15 GDPR).
The right to rectification – You have the right to request that we or the LG Affiliate correct any information that is inaccurate. You also have the right to request us to complete information that is incomplete (e.g., for applicable region, as stipulated in Art. 16 GDPR).
The right to erasure – You have the right to request that we or the LG Affiliate erase your personal data, under certain conditions (e.g., for applicable region, as stipulated in Art. 17 GDPR).
The right to restriction of processing – You have the right to request that we or the LG Affiliate restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions (e.g., for applicable region, as stipulated in Art. 18 GDPR).
The right to data portability – You have the right to request that we or the LG Affiliate transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions (e.g., for applicable region, as stipulated in Art. 20 GDPR).
The right to object – If the data processing is based on consent, your consent can be revoked at any time with effect for the future. The revocation of the consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent up to the revocation. If the data processing is not based on consent, the objection to data processing must be justified (e.g., for applicable region, the stipulations of Art. 21 GDPR apply).
If you make a request, the requested entity will respond within the time legally required, but you may need to provide the requested entity with proof of identification before being able to act upon your request. If you would like to exercise any of these rights, please contact us or the respective Data Protection point of contact, whom you find in Appendix I hereto. To the extent applicable, please also refer to the “Addendum to Privacy Policy” applicable to your region.
How to contact us
Each entity controlling and processing your data has designated a department in charge of personal data protection, with overall responsibility for processing of personal data to handle complaints and damage relief sought by data subjects in relation to personal data processing. Users may make any inquiries about personal data protection, complaint handling or damage relief or similar requests that arise while using the services through the person in charge and the relevant department. User inquiries will be responded and addressed without delay.
How to contact the supervisory authority
Should you wish to report a complaint or if you feel, that the Company or the LG Affiliate has not addressed your concern in a satisfactory manner, you may contact the responsible supervisory authority using the contact details as listed in Appendix II hereto.
Collection and Use of Information from Underage
This website is open to users 18 years of age (or the legal age of adulthood in your country) and above. We do not knowingly collect or solicit information from anyone under the age of 18 (or the legal age of adulthood in your country) or knowingly allow such persons to use the Services.
Changes to our Privacy Policy
The Company keeps this Privacy Policy under regular review and places any updates on this web page.

Addendum to Privacy Policy for California
This Addendum to Privacy Policy for US (this “Addendum”) applies to the processing of employees’ personal information collected from California residents. This addendum explains the categories of personal data that we collect from you and how we collect and use personal data that is subject to the California Privacy Rights Act (the “CPRA”). It further describes the rights that California residents have with respect to their personal data. This addendum should be read together with the Privacy Policy, and in case of any conflict the terms of this addendum will prevail as to personal data of California residents that is subject to the CPRA. For purposes of this addendum, the term “personal data” includes all “personal information” as defined in the CPRA.
Your legal rights
In addition to the rights explained in the Privacy Policy, under certain circumstances, California residents have the following rights in relation to their personal data:
- Right to opt-out. You have the right to opt out of any sale or “sharing” of your personal information (as the term “sharing” is defined under California law, which means a disclosure to a third party for purposes of cross-context behavioral advertising).
- Right to non-discrimination. You have the right to exercise any of the rights listed above (and any other rights under CPRA) without discrimination by us.
- Right to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive information.
To exercise your right to access or delete your personal information, you may submit a request via telephone at 82-1644-7119 or via email to the appropriate point of contact listed in Appendix I.
For requests submitted via telephone, you must provide us with sufficient information that allows us to reasonably verify you are the person about whom we collected the personal information and describe your request with sufficient detail to allow us to properly evaluate and respond to it. If we are not able to verify your identity for access and deletion requests with the information provided, we may ask you for additional pieces of information.
Only you, or a person registered with the California Secretary of State that you authorize to act on your behalf may make a request related to your personal information. If you are an authorized agent making a request on behalf of another individual, you must provide us with signed documentation that you are authorized to act on behalf of that individual.
Sources of, purposes for collecting, and categories of personal data collected and disclosed
We obtain your personal data mainly from or via you, and we collect and process personal data for a variety of business or commercial purposes. The Privacy Policy describes in greater detail the specific explanation of purposes, the specific pieces of personal data that we collect, and the categories of third parties with whom we share or may share personal data.
In the preceding twelve (12) months, we have collected the following categories of personal data from California residents. Please note that the following list represents categories of personal data across all California residents whose personal data we may have collected or received and does not necessarily represent information we have collected specifically about you. Please also note that the definition of “personal information” under CPRA is subject to certain exceptions as set forth therein and does not include information that is publicly available or has been aggregated or deidentified in accordance with CPRA.
- Identifiers. This includes information such as name, email address, telephone number, IP address, national identification number (or unique identification data equivalent thereto) and other similar identifiers.
- Personal information as defined by Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.80(e): The types of personal data in this category include several of the identifiers described above but also includes, among other things, information such as corporate credit card number.
- Certain protected classifications. Information under this category may include religious affiliation.
- Internet or network activity. The types of information in this category includes information that relates to IP address and access records.
- Professional or employment-related information. This includes information such as name of company/department and job title.
- Education Information. Educational background including majored fields of study.
- General information such as date of birth, hobbies, office location.
In the preceding 12 months, we may have disclosed or shared to third parties for a business purpose the categories of personal data listed above. Please refer to the Privacy Policy for more information.
Sales of personal data
We do not sell or share your personal data for monetary consideration.
Addendum to Privacy Policy for Germany
The legal basis for the processing of your data is the EU General Data Protection Directive (GDPR) and the Federal Data Protection Act (hereinafter "BDSG"), in particular:
- Art. 6 I b. GDPR in conjunction with. Art. 88 I GDPR and § 26 I BDSG, insofar as the processing is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures.
- Art. 6 I f. GDPR. in conjunction with. Art. 88 I GDPR and § 26 I BDSG, which permits processing for the protection of legitimate interests of the potential employer, insofar as no overriding interest of the data subject worthy of protection opposes the processing.
- In addition, under certain circumstances, your personal data will also be processed on the basis of your consent pursuant to Art. 6 I a. in conjunction with. Art. 88 I GDPR and Section 26 II BDSG. In such cases, we will obtain your consent in advance and - unless another form is appropriate due to the special circumstances - in writing and explain the purpose of the data processing in text form. You have the right to revoke your consent at any time by contacting the contact person named in the consent document.
