About the Role
The General Procurement Officer is responsible for managing procurement activities to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and compliant acquisition of goods and services required by the organization. The role supports sourcing, vendor management, purchasing, and contract administration while maintaining strong supplier relationships and optimizing procurement costs. The General Procurement Officer contributes to operational efficiency by ensuring the availability of quality products and services through effective procurement practices and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Procurement & Sourcing
- Process purchase requests and procure goods and services in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Source qualified suppliers, obtain quotations, and evaluate procurement options.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost efficiency and value for the organization.
Vendor Management & Coordination
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and service providers.
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery commitments, and contract compliance.
- Address procurement and supplier-related concerns in a timely manner.
Purchase Order & Documentation Management
- Prepare and maintain purchase orders, quotations, contracts, and procurement records.
- Ensure completeness, accuracy, and proper filing of procurement documents.
- Support procurement compliance requirements and audit activities.
Inventory, Cost Control & Process Improvement
- Coordinate with internal departments regarding purchasing, inventory, and delivery requirements.
- Monitor purchasing costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Management, Economics, or any related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain operations.
- Experience in vendor management, supplier negotiations, and procurement processes is an advantage.
- Knowledge of procurement practices, sourcing strategies, inventory management, vendor accreditation and contract administration.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and ERP/procurement systems.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and transactions.
- Knowledge of procurement policies, compliance requirements, and ethical sourcing practices.
- Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management is an advantage.
