LG Chem is actively seeking detail-oriented and highly organized Corporate Paralegal Apprentice to join our Legal & Compliance Team. This Apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional legal environment. This role will support the legal department in corporate governance matters, contract management, internal process development, and other legal and contract administrative matters. The idea candidate has strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time Apprenticeship based in our corporate office in Atlanta, GA.

 

The goal of this Apprenticeship Program is to prepare future candidates for future careers in legal services and for positions with LG Chem.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

 

Essential Functions (Principal assignments include but are not limited to):

 

  • Assist with the preparation and filing of corporate documents, including articles of incorporation, bylaws, board resolutions, and annual reports.
  • Maintain corporate records and minute books for the company and its subsidiaries.
  • Support the legal team in drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts, NDAs, and other legal documents.
  • Coordinate board and committee meetings, including preparing agendas, minutes, and resolutions.
  • Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorneys.
  • Assist with compliance matters, licensing, and regulatory reporting.
  • Manage legal databases and document management systems.
  • Support the legal team with routine tasks including organizing files, tracking tasks, and monitoring deadlines
  • Drafting initial project updates to internal and external clients, and government agencies
  • Liaise with external counsel and regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Process and manage outside counsel legal invoices and other legal-related invoices.
  • Handle expense reimbursements.
  • General administrative support related to contracts and legal matters.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: What We’re Looking For

 

Education:  Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

 

Requirements:

  • Current enrollment in or recent completion of paralegal certification from ABA-accredited program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw) and ability to learn and navigate a variety of document management and calendaring systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

 

Preferred Qualification/What We’d Like to See:

  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and presentation.
  • Ability to collaborate across business functions and work as part of a team.
  • Notary Public Certification is a plus.
