For our Business Development division, we are looking for a Business Development - Technology Intelligence Specialist (m/f/d) in our Frankfurt office to as soon as possible:
Responsibilities:
- Technology scouting and identification of potential partners (companies, research institutes, start-ups, venture capital firms)
- Support technology evaluation and contribute to assessment reports
- Gather and organize market, technology, and competitor intelligence; support analysis
- Contribute to opportunity identification by gathering and structuring industry trends
- Development and expansion of LG Chem's external innovation network through conferences, exhibitions, and industry events
- Partner engagement, meeting coordination, and support for contract and collaboration discussions
- Coordination and communication between HQ and external partners using virtual and on-site collaboration tools
- Project status reporting and presentation to management
- Benchmarking studies and PoC (Proof of Concept) support for ongoing R&D projects in Korea
- Coverage of technology and market intelligence activities across Europe
Experience Requirements / Competencies
- Adequate technical and scientific fluency to engage credibly with technical stakeholders and understand emerging technologies sufficiently to support their assessment
- Exposure to or interest in technology scouting, open innovation, technology intelligence, R&D support, or related activities is advantageous
- Familiarity with innovation ecosystems, including chemical companies, research institutes, start-ups, or related networks, is a plus
- Strong project coordination and stakeholder management capabilities
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills in international and cross-cultural environments
- Collaborative and team-oriented working style with multicultural teams
- High level of motivation, initiative, and learning agility
- Strong results-oriented mindset and proactive problem-solving approach
- Ability to organize and participate in conference calls and project meetings across multiple time zones
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Copilot, etc.)
- Professional English fluency (required)
- Approximately 3-5 years of professional experience in innovation, R&D, technical business development, technology scouting, or other related fields; candidates with transferable experience and strong potential will also be considered
