The Spare Parts Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of the spare parts business, ensuring optimal availability, cost efficiency and contribution to service revenue growth. The role is critical in achieving service excellence by ensuring a high-quality customer experience and satisfaction through reliable spare parts availability, improved system uptime and the strategic management of spare parts as a business driver.
Key roles & responsibilities
- Spare Parts Strategy & Business Ownership
- Define and execute the EU spare parts strategy
- Drive spare parts as a revenue and margin contributor
- Support service contracts, OOW business and upselling
- Demand and Inventory Management
- Lead demand planning and forecasting
- Optimize stock levels (availability, reduce BO, right parts and QTY, …)
- Manage slow-moving & obsolete stock
- Supply Chain Operations
- Ensure availability and lead time performance and coordinate with stakeholder
- Manage critical parts & escalation processes
- Pricing & Commercial Management
- Define spare parts pricing strategy
- Ensure margin optimization
- Align pricing and part management with market benchmarks and Service business strategy
- Service & Technical Alignment
- Work closely with Service Operations teams
- Ensure correct parts identification & BOM structures
- Support first-time-fix rate (FTFR) improvement and over all SVC Quality
- Performance & KPI Management
- Define and track KPIs such as: Fill rate / availability, Inventory turnover, obsolescence rate, Spare parts revenue & margin
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
- EU Coordination & Governance
- Align spare parts processes across countries
- Enable standardization and best practice sharing
- Support local teams in performance improvement
- Support to organize, realize and attend dedicated Service Events
- Analysis of feedback and complaints to continuously improve our service offer
- Organization and support of internal Service audits and workshops as well as coordination and implementation of countermeasures
- Support EU Service Organization by defining and implementing new digital tools, systems and offers
- Conduct ad hoc studies and/or benchmark analysis based on necessary topics
Required qualifications, skills and experience
- Academic background in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years' experience and responsibility for Spare Parts operation, within a Service environment, for example in the HVAC or consumer electronics market
- Solid knowledge in following areas is appreciated: Project Management, Technical Support, Technical Helpdesk, Field Support or Service Network Management
- Excellent understanding of HVAC systems and parts
- Strong experience with Service revenue and business generation, setting Parts Management as a business driver
- Ability to work in virtual international teams and in a matrix organization
- Proactive and self-dependent, structured and solution driven working style
- Above average communication with excellent stakeholder management skills
