For our Human Resources Team, we are looking for a Payroll Specialist (m/f/d) in our Frankfurt office to strengthen our team as soon as possible:
Responsibilities:
- Independently prepare and validate monthly payroll processing for multiple EMEA countries, including but not limited to Germany, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Turkey, and Hungary
- Review payroll outputs, ensure accuracy and compliance, and manage post‑payroll accounting activities following payout
- Serve as a key point of contact for employees and managers on payroll-related questions (e.g. salary payments, deductions, benefits, tax-related topics)
- Support monthly and annual closing activities related to payroll and personnel costs
- Collaborate with external payroll providers, tax authorities, and social security institutions as required
- Create and maintain personnel master data and support the administration of the digital personnel file
- Perform account allocation of payroll‑related invoices and personnel costs, including reconciliation of payroll and clearing accounts
- Support and accompany internal and external audits, including payroll audits and payroll tax inspections
- Ensure payroll processes comply with statutory, tax, and internal control requirements
- Work closely with Human Resources, Finance, and external HR service providers on operational topics and payroll-related projects
- Contribute to the optimization and standardization of payroll and payroll-related processes across the EMEA region
- Ensure full compliance with GDPR and data protection regulations, maintaining strict confidentiality of payroll and employee data at all times
- Process and validate all statutory and company leave types in accordance with local legislation, including but not limited to holiday, sick leave, maternity/paternity leave, and termination payments
- Collaborate on and review unemployment certificate requests and related documentation, ensuring accuracy and legal compliance
- Support the preparation of income tax declarations for expatriates
Competencies:
- Successful completion of academic degree or vocational training in relevant field (e.g. payroll accountant, tax consultant, personnel referent) is preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in payroll accounting, ideally in a corporate or international environment
- Solid knowledge of German tax and social insurance legislation; basic understanding of payroll-related requirements across the EMEA region is an advantage
- Proficient user of MS Excel and other Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with SAP SuccessFactors (Employee Central / Payroll) or similar HRIS systems is desirable
- Very good business fluency in both German and English language (written and spoken)
- Strong time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage deadlines accurately
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and committed to maintaining confidentiality
- Strong awareness of data protection, GDPR compliance, and payroll confidentiality requirements
- Proven analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies, assess complex payroll data, and resolve issues accurately and efficiently
- Reliable team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
