Basic Function

The Senior Quality Manager is responsible for the performance and continuous improvement of the quality portion of the Integrated Management System. This includes overseeing all aspects of quality and lean. They oversee team members within the Quality Department and Document Control. They are responsible for implementing, and maintaining the most effective procedure for an optimum Quality System Management. In addition, they are responsible for any other task the President deems necessary.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee the Technical Labs
  • Promote continuous improvement of all quality & process metrics and the Integrated Management System as a whole
  • Prepare Process Improvement Studies; perform Internal 8-D’s, report opportunities for improvement to the management team
  • Ensure customer concerns and other quality issues are presented at the monthly plant meetings
  • Serve as the Control of Nonconforming Product, Corrective and Preventive Action, Quality Assurance Process Owner, Continuous Improvement and Internal Auditing.
  • Review customer specific requirements (OEMs and tiers) monthly. Meet with Quality Engineer to discuss any changes and subsequent actions. Update MS CSRM as applicable.
  • Uphold the MS, IATF 16949 program and fulfil any specified responsibilities within
  • Complete customer audits, coordinate 2nd and 3rd party audits of the Quality Management System, & oversee second party supplier audit program
  • Review nonconformances and recommendations and forward them to appropriate managers for corrective action and recommendation action responses
  • Control and maintain all Internal Quality Audit System records (excludes the maintenance of training records)

 

Skills/Competencies:

  • Superior communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to demonstrate effective leadership skills
  • Negotiation and organizational presentation skills
  • Certifications in ISO/ IATF or other management system requirements

 

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Chemistry, Quality Management, or related field is required.

 

Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years in a decision-making or similar role, including quality, customer requirements, and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.
