Summary:
This job description reflects potential openings for the Summer/Fall 2026 Co-op/Internship Session. L-H Battery Company will offer both single and multi-semester co-ops and internships. College students must apply to the requisition pertaining to their major and semester of interest.
Responsibilities:
- Updating and documenting Computer-Aided Design (CAD) drawings of existing infrastructure
- Under the direction of a senior engineer or leading the following:
- Analyzing and designing existing sanitation, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and building pressure systems
- Developing short and long-term solutions to problems found
- Designing modifications of existing facilities infrastructures
- Updating mechanical engineering specifications and standards
- Reviewing electrical drawings
- Learning and understanding plant power infrastructure
- Verifying electrical panel schedules
- Updating high bay light locations
- Trouble shooting reports
- Utility analysis
- Construction projects
- Verifying construction completeness
- Coordinating power shutdowns
- Energy reporting
- All related safety items
- Supporting and learning SRP/CESS/Environmental Equipment/Hot Oil Boilers
- Arc flash analysis
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- General Engineering Coursework
- Minimum 2.5 Cumulative GPA or higher (You will be required to provide your current transcript)
- Class status- Sophomore (by credit hour) or above
- Availability to work a minimum of 10 weeks at 40 hours per week.
- Enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program studying Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Valid U.S. Driver's License (exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis)
- Ability to provide own transportation to and from work each day.
- AutoCAD, Computer-Aided Three-Dimensional Interactive Application (CATIA), Manufacturing related coursework desired
- Microsoft Office
