3rd Shift Production Supervisor
Location: Ravenna, Ohio
Shift: 3rd Shift | Sunday Night – Friday Morning
Hours: 10:45 PM – 7:15 AM (8-hour shift with 30-minute unpaid meal break)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated 3rd Shift Production Supervisor to lead our overnight production operations. This role is responsible for overseeing shift activities, driving operational excellence, and ensuring a safe, productive, and quality-focused work environment.
The Production Supervisor serves as a key leader within the manufacturing team, providing direction, coaching, and support to production operators and material handlers. The successful candidate will be accountable for shift performance, employee development, safety compliance, product quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Our 3rd Shift team plays a critical role in plant operations by starting up the facility each Sunday evening and concluding their weekly production schedule early Friday morning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the daily activities of production operators and material handlers in accordance with the production schedule.
- Drive achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, environmental compliance, quality, housekeeping, productivity, and operational efficiency.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement through coaching, mentoring, and problem-solving activities.
- Address and resolve production, quality, safety, and personnel issues that arise during the shift.
- Make decisions regarding nonconforming materials, product disposition, rework, recycling, and grade change procedures.
- Conduct routine audits to ensure compliance with safety standards, housekeeping expectations, operating procedures, and work instructions.
- Manage plant start-up and shutdown activities and ensure smooth operation of manufacturing processes throughout the shift.
- Partner closely with Maintenance to ensure critical utility systems remain operational, including:
- Electrical power systems
- Pneumatic systems
- Cooling water systems
- Demineralized water systems
- Instrument air systems
- Waste gas treatment systems
- RTO systems and related equipment
- Train and develop new and existing employees, managing skill development plans and job certifications.
- Coordinate employee schedules, attendance, overtime, and time-off requests.
- Maintain and distribute operational documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Prepare and communicate shift performance reports to management and provide feedback to team members.
- Facilitate effective shift handoffs and ensure operational continuity between crews.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, ethical standards, and applicable health, safety, environmental, and employment regulations.
- Recommend and support process improvements that enhance safety, efficiency, and product quality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Uphold the principles of Jeong-Do Management and the company Code of Ethics.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Minimum 3–5 years of manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience, preferably within a compounding, plastics, chemical, or process manufacturing environment.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to read, analyze, troubleshoot, and respond to operational issues.
- Comfortable working with manufacturing technology, scheduling systems, and inventory management software.
- Understanding of standard engineering and process measurement units (meters, kilograms, liters, bar, Celsius, etc.).
- Strong mathematical aptitude, including rates, ratios, percentages, and data interpretation.
- Ability to use hand tools, powered tools, and manufacturing equipment safely.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed to support business operations.
