We are actively searching for a Color Design Technician to play an active role in servicing our ABS Compounding Facility. The Color Design Technician conducts color development and color test according to work standards, quality and safety regulations for a given prescription. The Color Design Technician reports to the Color Design Lab Supervisor. 

 

TECHNICIAN – COLOR DESIGN

3rd Shift Sunday evening to Friday morning
10:45 PM to 7:15 AM; $1.50 per hour shift premium

 

Essential Functions:    
•    Performing test that related to colorant and its quality using equipment.(Extruder, Injection molding machine, Spectrophotometer, etc)
•    Conduct the color development according to the prescription given by the engineer
•    Record history of developed colors, color prescription and color data.
•    Perform data processing using measuring equipment and PC.
•    Accurately tests, analyzes, and report sample results
•    Communicate and review status with engineer.
•    Perform startups and shutdowns of equipment as needed
•    Supply and demand management of raw materials.
•    Following development schedule (daily).
•    Observe and read instruments, gages and dials to determine operating conditions.
•    Set up and operates a machine following established procedures, guidelines, and customer requirement.
•    Performing maintenance/management tasks for the equipment.
•    Ensuring that products adhere to quality standards.
•    Safely handle/use chemicals and waste. Potentially including hazardous materials. Read, understand, and maintain material safety data sheets.
•    Trying to improve process efficiency.
•    Measure, weight, and count products and materials.
•    Adheres to all safety and quality procedures/regulations.
•    Maintain a clean work space, General cleaning of work areas.
•    Must uphold the Jeong-Do Management(Code of ethics).
•    All other duties as assigned.

 

Skills / Competencies:
•    Color perception ability.
•    Basic color knowledge.
•    Ability to operate compounding machinery such as extruder, injection molding machine, spectrophotometer,  etc.
•    Understanding of relevant health and safety regulations. 
•    Ability to learn the use of all lab equipment and system needed to perform daily tasks.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•    Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power point) and a capability to learn basic systems such as ERP, QMS.
•    Positive attitude, reliability and good communication skills
•    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
•    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

Education:
•    High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred

 

Experience / Qualifications :
•    At least 1 year of Color Design related experience; 1+ years compounding process experience preferred
•    Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
•    Ability to be on your feet all day and to lift up to 55 lbs.
•    Color perception ability (No color blindness and color weakness)
•    Use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or computer.
•    Periodically move up and down stairs.
