JOB SUMMARY
The Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating logistics activities for LGCOP, with a focus on warehouse operations and inventory management. This role is critical in developing strategies to optimize logistics performance, enhance materials flow, and drive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Receive, process and manage customer sales orders in the ERP system.
• Verify product availability, pricing, and delivery terms to ensure order accuracy.
• Collaborate with sales teams and customers to confirm order details and delivery expectations.
• Partner with production team to align manufacturing schedules with inventory levels for ABS products.
• Monitor production timelines and proactively address potential delays or bottlenecks.
• Develop and maintain shipment schedules that align with customer requirements and production capacity.
• Coordinate with logistics providers and carriers to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
• Strategically plan transportation modes and warehouse operations to optimize logistics flow.
• Track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and provide real-time updates to customers.
• Resolve issues related to transportation, customs clearance, and final-mile delivery.
• Ensure accurate invoicing and revenue recognition for delivered goods.
• Work closely with finance and customer service teams to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure proper documentation.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs), carriers, and freight forwarders.
• Evaluate partner performance using key metrics such as on-time delivery, service accuracy, and cost-efficiency.
• Foster strategic partnerships and drive joint process improvement initiatives.
• Lead logistics improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and cost-effectiveness across the supply chain.
• Analyze logistics KPIs (e.g., delivery lead time, transportation cost per unit, inventory turnover) to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
• Generate and maintain reports on order fulfillment, logistics costs, delivery performance, and improvement activities.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
• Provide coverage for team duties during absences or peak periods to ensure continuity.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
SKILLS / COMPETENCIES:
• Comprehensive knowledge of domestic and international logistics, including transportation regulations and Incoterms.
• Proficient in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Solid foundation in probability, statistics, and demand forecasting methodologies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with all levels of management and operational staff.
• Demonstrates professionalism in conflict resolution, maintains confidentiality, and exercises emotional intelligence under pressure.
• APICS certification (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) is preferred.
• Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to logistics and warehouse operations.
• Familiarity with logistics technologies, including Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards, such as OSHA, NFPA, and EPA.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher is preferred, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, operations, business management, or engineering preferred.
5+ years of logistics management experience in manufacturing or chemical industry highly preferred
Prior people and vendor (3PL) management experience strongly preferred
