LG Chem Ohio Petrochemical, Inc., (LGCOP) is actively searching for a Logistics Specialist for production and warehouse facilities in Ravenna, OH. The Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing and executing all aspects of outbound logistics operations, ensuring the efficient flow of materials and products from production to customers. This role serves as a central point of coordination across departments such as production, sales, and external partners, and plays a critical role in maintaining operational continuity, especially during transitional periods.The logistics team is also responsible for managing orders and handling in-bound shipments from Korea and local US vendors. Qualified candidates must have experience with SAP as well as Warehouse Management System (WMS). This position is base Ravenna, OH.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

 

Essential Functions (include but are not limited to):

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Logistics Management

  • Plan and track shipment of sales orders according to customer needs and sales department priorities.
  • Prepare and manage all shipping documentation including Bills of Lading (BOL), Commercial Invoices (CI), Certificates of Origin, SLIs, and customer-specific labels.
  • Schedule carriers for LTL and FTL shipments, ensuring timely pickups and resolving missed pickups.
  • Communicate with sales managers and production teams to prioritize and coordinate order shipments.
  • Match sales orders and part numbers; verify inventory availability for shipping.
  • Manage and provide customer service for all logistics-related inquiries.
  • Communicate with 3PL transportation providers for order processing and shipping.
  • Review and approve vendor invoices related to transportation and logistics.
  • Monitor shipment status and provide daily updates on delivery timelines.
  • Process invoices related to logistics and transportation services.
  • Perform other duties assigned or requested.
  • Must uphold the Jeong-Do Management (Code of ethics).

 

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: What We’re Looking For

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in logistics operations within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience coordinating transportation, warehousing, and vendor sourcing.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage logistics operations independently and cross-functionally.
  • Strong ERP troubleshooting and master data management skills (SAP experience required).
  • Experience with logistics cost management and reporting.
  • Knowledge of customs, duty, import processes, and HTS code maintenance preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with forecasting tools.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Excellent multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage logistics operations during transitional periods.
  • Training and mentorship capabilities.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Experience with workplace technology including inventory management software (WMS).
  • Forklift license preferred.
  • Continuous Improvement / Operational Excellence knowledge preferred.
