LG Chem is actively searching for an individual interested in a career in Procurement. This is an excellent opportunity to learn the business from the ground up to gain experience in ERP systems, Requests for Quotation, Vendor Management, Contract and Price negotiations, Demand and Supply analysis, Inventory Tracking and other responsibilities. In this role, you will work closely with procurement team members in the US and Kora. The position is based full time in Ravenna, OH. In this role, you will be responsible for operating the procurement of various materials and services, reporting overall procurement work to manager. The LGCOP ABS Compounding Facility completed construction in February 2024 and started sample production in late April 2024.
What You’ll Be Doing
Essential Functions (include but are not limited to):

- • Over 90% of raw materials for the LGCOP ABS Compounding facility are sourced from Korea.
• Daily communication is maintained with Korean headquarters and suppliers regarding delivery schedules and quality concerns.
• All major equipment (extruders, mixers, pelletizers, vacuum systems, etc.) is sourced from Korean manufacturers.
• Ongoing coordination with these manufacturers ensures performance, quality, and service support.
• Korean suppliers represent 70% of the facility’s supplier base.
• Regular meetings and email correspondence are conducted with Korean manufacturers, suppliers, and logistics partners.
• Responsible for managing compliance with chemical substance regulations.
• Determine purchasing quantities based on supply and demand planning.
• Procure raw materials, maintenance services, and equipment in accordance with LG Chem’s procurement procedures.
• Execute procurement processes including: RFQ (Request for Quotation), TBE (Technical Bid Evaluation), CBE (Commercial Bid Evaluation), PO (Purchase Order), Price negotiations and final contract agreements.
• Utilize internal systems such as GSI-ERP (SAP), G UAS, Master Data Management, Smart Business Planning Module, and Single X for procurement operations.
• Identify alternatives for discontinued materials and diversify supplier sources.
• Manage the raw material storeroom with a focus on data integrity, cleanliness, and continuous improvement.
• Monitor procurement progress, payment transactions, and maintain accurate SAP procurement data.
• Collaborate closely with internal departments including Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Sales, Logistics, Manufacturing, Customer Care, and corporate functions such as Credit, Procurement, Regulatory, and Legal.
• Contribute to corporate strategic planning and goal setting.
• Provide regulatory support to LG Chem HQ by reporting spending data, market pricing, and procurement progress.
• Use SAP for procurement, functional location management, storeroom operations, and maintenance planning.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: What We’re Looking For
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred with preference in Business Administration, Science , Technology , Engineering , or Mathematics.
- Skills / Competencies:
• Follows procedures accurately; works independently and in teams.
• Proficient in Incoterms and workplace technologies (e.g., inventory and control systems).
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Strong reading, writing, math, and analytical skills.
• Solid grasp of purchasing and sourcing principles (TCO, risk management, global sourcing, etc.).
• Experience in strategic planning and driving procurement improvements.
• Effective communicator with a proven record of collaboration.
• Korean language ability is strongly preferred, given the frequent interaction with suppliers and HQ team members based in Korea. Ability to use MS Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Teams
Preferred Qualification/What We’d Like to See:
- ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and presentation.
- Ability to collaborate across business functions and work as part of a team.
- Comfortable with workplace technology like registers, control system, scale software, inventory management software.
- Understanding of relevant health and safety regulations.
- Knowledge on general shipping International Commercial Terms (Incoterms) and basic assistant of custom clearance on imports
- 0-1 year of global purchasing experience for large organizations, preferably in Automotive, IT/High-tech, Industrial/Consumer Goods, or Retail sector
